| Overview |
The Dual Diagnosis Group is a cognitive-behavioral therapy group for offenders with a chronic mental illness who also suffer from substance abuse/dependence. It is a curriculum-based recovery group, designed to help members overcome the challenges of living a dual diagnosis.
This group provides support and education for all members. Emphasis is placed on the importance of medication as a tool for recovery, as well as on symptom management. It provides education regarding the impact that substances may have on mood and the decision-making process. Our goal is to help individuals attain a healthy lifestyle through the practice and application of skills provided.

| Eligibility |
| Individuals with chronic mental illness as well as substance abuse/dependence. |

| Referral Process |
The offender must be sentenced to a ComCor, Inc. residential correctional program. A referral to the treatment group is made through the case manager and staffing team. Each referral will be screened; acceptance into the group will be determined on an individual basis, taking into account the level of risk and need.

| Expectations |
| Group members will be expected to take an active roll in their recovery through participation in the group process, practicing and mastering the skills provided, and applying them toward a healthy non-criminal lifestyle. |
