ComCor offers a number of different programs that potentially give you more options for sentencing. |
Greetings, Your Honor. You have a unique position in the criminal justice system. On the one hand, you have an obligation to uphold the law. But you must also protect the community and make decisions about the placement and needs of each particular offender. We recognize that this is no trivial task.
ComCor offers a number of different programs that potentially give you more options for sentencing. From criminal justice research, we have learned that offenders who are at low risk need minimal intervention. They must pay the required restitution and court fees and must complete their sentence. But offenders who are at higher risk with longer criminal histories need more monitoring, sanctions, mandates and controls as well as treatment. ComCor is able to provide correctional oversight while providing treatment and case management services.
For the low-risk offenders, ComCor has a wide range of options through our Electronic Monitoring Services Program that provide minimal intervention and supervision options, and that can often be used individually, or in conjunction with one another, to provide supervision unique to the individual offender.
Our Correctional Programs are ideal for those offenders in the higher risk categories, with the longer criminal histories, and offer longer sentencing options. These programs also afford offenders the opportunity to take part in many of our Treatment Services, either as a part of their court mandates, or as a part of their post-placement supervision plan.
ComCor is committed to helping the offender follow through on any court-mandated treatment and sanctions. To accomplish this, ComCor involves criminal justice professionals (including managers with years of experience) and mental health professionals who can deal with specialized needs of offender populations through mental health, trauma, substance abuse and sex offender treatment. See the Community Corrections Expertise for more information.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions about placements criteria or Comcor’s ability to address the specialized needs of the offender in your court. Since its inception as a county agency in 1977, ComCor has had a strong and collaborative relationship with the judiciary. |
