“ComCor gives me the opportunity to continue work, support family and be involved with the community.”
|
Hello, prospective client. Notice that by using the word client we differ from most criminal justice agencies. To us you are a client, not an inmate or offender. Every client who leaves ComCor’s programs has the opportunity to fill out a client exit questionnaire. Whether clients have completed the program successfully or gone back to jail, they commonly note on these exit questionnaires that “ComCor gives me the opportunity to continue work, support family and be involved with the community.” This doesn’t mean you can do anything you want while here. ComCor, like life, has certain rules to follow. Every one of us makes choices daily. Regardless of whether you were in the wrong place, at the wrong time, acting stupidly or are innocent, the question now is “What are you going to do?” You have made choices and decisions that have led you to where you are now (sometimes these are hard to see). These choices may include the friends you have, “playing the game” to see how much you can get away with, the person you have chosen to be with, or use of alcohol and illegal drugs.
At ComCor, we believe people can change, and we provide the opportunity. Change is our goal for every client who comes to ComCor. Despite your past, you now have to answer for yourself: “Where do I want go from here?” “What am I going to do?” Placement at ComCor is an opportunity, not a right that you have under the statutes of the criminal justice system. It is a privilege and a chance for you to make changes. You will be required to work. You will pay rent and fees as well as child support and court obligations. You will attend treatment classes. And you will be able to maintain relationships with individuals who are law-abiding. Regardless of what you have done or where you are in life, our sincerest hope is that you will be able to make positive changes that keep you out of trouble and allow those who care about you to be proud of your progress.
Please take time to look at the client Information for answers to some of your questions. Also see what other clients have said about their experiences at ComCor. Regardless of whether you become a client or not. we hope you can make some positive changes and have a positive impact on the people around you. |
